Quarry Arts Centre

Things to do

Since 1981 we've supported the development of Northland creatives. Our leafy peaceful site is a space for creatives to connect, exhibit and deepen practices. All are welcomed to explore and use the grounds, gallery, kilns and workshop program.

The Quarry Arts Centre is the home of community arts in Whangarei. Established in 1981 on the site of an old quarry, the centre has continued to evolve as an arts space where creatives come together to create, exhibit, teach, discuss and connect with one another with workshops, galleries and studio spaces.

On site:
Gallery spaces - Yvonne Rust Gallery and Bunker 2, active exhibition programme, see website for latest info
14 Artist Studios - most studios open by appointment, see website for more details
Workshop program - bookable online
Community kilns firing service - open year round
