The Tuputupu Grow Northland Initiative has been developed by Northland Inc in response to evolving challenges across the primary and associated manufacturing sectors in Taitokerau Northland.
To help support landowners in identifying optimal future-focused land uses, the Tuputupu Grow Northland initiative has a vision of Taitokerau Northland’s people and environment thriving through adaptation and innovation, leading to sustainable and optimal land use choices, commercialisation of new opportunities, and development of value-add products and manufacturing.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Launched in 2024, Tuputupu Grow Northland will focus on initiatives to identify and develop opportunities in Northland's primary industries and related manufacturing sectors.
This includes supporting and developing both existing and new land uses, the development of in region value-add primary sector manufacturing, and commercialising new primary sector products and services. A key aspect of this programme is partnering with Māori to support their aspirations through a by Māori, for Māori approach.
The initiative has a quadruple bottom line, focussing on economic, environmental, people, and cultural outcomes.
