    Wayne Rogers

Skills & Employment Co-ordinator, Ngāwha Innovation & Enterprise Park

    Ngati Rangi

I was born and raised in a small town called Kaikohe and whakapapa to our Ngati Rangi hapu.  I loved growing up in Kaikohe.  From my early, teenage, and young adult years I was exposed to the challenges of low-socio economic conditions, high unemployment, and emerging social and community issues.  But back then we innovated, developed, and created our own pathways and opportunities through whanau collaboration.

It is my privilege and honour to be working back in my own community, back with my own people…30 years later.

My role is at the Ngawha Innovation and Enterprise Park as the Skills and Employment Coordinator.  I am not only working with whanau to place them into jobs at the park, but am also developing systems for upskilling, on-the-job training, and industry specific education to develop our workforce.  I have a broad range of public and private sector experience and a passion for project management and workforce development.
