Savour Northland Returns for 2025 – Building on a Region-Wide Celebration of Kai, Culture and Creativity

Taitokerau Northland’s flagship food and beverage celebration, Savour Northland, is set to return for the month of October 2025, following a successful inaugural year that brought together producers, chefs, venues, and communities across all three districts.
Developed in close collaboration with the local hospitality and producer industry, Savour Northland 2025 will once again showcase the region’s food, drink and manaakitanga through a calendar of events, which in 2024 ranged from fine dining experiences and cocktail collaborations to casual beachside feasts and immersive workshops.
The 2024 programme featured 126 events along with 49 entries into the Savour Northland Challenge, highlighting the strength and diversity of Northland’s food and beverage sector. The Challenge encouraged restaurants, cafes and food trucks to present the ultimate expression of Northland on a plate or in a glass, using local ingredients and creative flair.
Savour Northland Creative Director, Jackie Sanders, says the team is excited to build on last year’s momentum:
“It’s been amazing to see the engagement and excitement from the Northland food and beverage sector. In 2024, we saw authentic collaborations, bold new event ideas, and real regional pride on display. We are excited to work with the industry again in 2025 to promote their culinary creativity, showcase excellence, and curate an unmissable programme of experiences.”
Backed by Northland Inc, the region’s economic development agency, Savour Northland is a key action of the Northland Food & Beverage Action Plan, which sits under the broader Destination Management Plan for the region.
Tania Burt, Head of Destination at Northland Inc, says the festival reflects years of strategic effort:
“Savour Northland is more than just a celebration — it’s a platform to elevate our local stories, ingredients and producers. The event sits at the intersection of our tourism, hospitality and primary sectors, and reflects the collaborative spirit of Taitokerau. We’re proud to continue supporting an initiative that delivers economic, cultural and community value.”
The 2024 events demonstrated strong collaboration across event organisers, hospitality and producers, iwi, councils, and both corporate and public sponsors and supporters — a collective effort that will continue to drive the festival’s growth and evolution in 2025.
Further details will be released in coming weeks, including a call for expressions of interest to hold events as part of the 2025 Savour Northland festival.
