Leaving Russell, you head towards Okiato, which is the site of New Zealand’s first capital. This 10km walk starts with a spectacular lookout point where you can see some on the 144 islands that make up the Bay if Islands. You will then drop down to walk along stunning mangrove boardwalks and then into bush where the terrain is more challenging. Arriving in Okiato you will catch the car ferry to Opua, where you will step aboard the Ratanui for Darryl's 2.5-hour lunch cruise. Relax as you cruise past Omata Estate and Kororāreka Oyster Farm, soaking in panoramic views of native bush and farmland. Savour a delicious lunch featuring your choice of New Zealand venison, lamb, or fresh fish. Tea, coffee, and a cash bar are available throughout. Cruise back to Russell in comfort—an unforgettable blend of adventure and relaxation!

2. The Russell Bowling Club is our Walking Weekend HQ, all walks start from there.
3. How the walks are graded
