Walk 8 - Omata Estate Vineyard

Non Walkers Are you coming to the Walking Weekend to support your partner or friend? Are you a short distance walker?

This is the walk for you! You will be transported out to Omata Estate, a boutique vineyard situated in a stunning location on a sheltered hilltop with wonderful views across the vines to the bay. An optional 2 km walk will be among the vines. The guide will explain the intricacies of the vineyard so that you will appreciate the wine tasting at the end! Bring your camera for great views over the Bay. If you don’t want to have a walk in the vines, you can perch yourself on a beanbag or chair and relax.

Friday 13th

Assemble HQ: 4pm

Depart HQ: 4.30 pm Wine tasting and woodfired pizza around 6pm

Depart: 7.30 – 8pm

Arrive HQ: 15 minutes later.

Duration: 3hours Distance: 2 km walking at a very slow pace through the vineyard!

Grade: Easy Maximum walkers: 20

Category: Family friendly – Children 10 years plus

Cost: $65 includes food, wine tasting and transport both ways

Saturday 14th

Assemble HQ: 11.30am

Depart HQ: 12 noon

Arrive at 12.15 Wine Tasting and platters 1 – 1.30pm

Depart From: 2.30 pm - 3.00pm Return to HQ: approx. 3.15 pm

Duration: 3hours Distance: 2 km walking at a very slow pace through the vineyard!

Grade: Easy Maximum walkers: 20 Category: Family friendly – Children 10 years plus Cost: $65 includes food, wine tasting and transport both ways

Notes:

1. Please check what is included and the time and length of your walk so you know what you need to bring in terms of food and water. It’s always a good idea to have a card or cash on you as you never know what you might encounter along the way.

2. The Russell Bowling Club is our Walking Weekend HQ, all walks start from there. Our guides are all passionate and knowledgeable about the Bay of Islands area and bring something special to the walking experience. Each walk has no more than 20 people. Our HQ is the Russell Bowling Club where people can meet, chat about their day and have something to eat and drink.

Russell is a fantastic base for the weekend with lots of great restaurants, places to stay and for the non-walkers out there.
