Tūhura Tuarangi - Aotearoa in Space showcase
Whats On
Kia ora e te whānau o Kaitaia! Tūhura Otago Museum are travelling all the way from Dunedin at the start of August to bring Kaitaia our hands-on space science showcase—Tūhura Tuarangi.
The showcase lands at Te Ahu from Wednesday 3 Aug until Saturday 12 Aug and will be based in the Atrium and Museum. It's free and will be open to the entire community Monday-Friday: 8.30am - 4.30pm (Saturdays close at 1pm).
There will be hands-on experiences for you to launch rockets, build satellites, and create (and ignite) your own rocket fuel! Come and hold a 4.5 billion year old meteorite and learn about our shared whakapapa with the night sky, as well as exploring Aotearoa New Zealand's connections to space that stretch back to our earliest Polynesian navigators.
This showcase is very popular with families, there's lots to explore for everyone of all ages. We hope you will be able to visit while the showcase is in town!
