The Big Weekend for Kids

The Big Weekend for Kids heads to the Bay of Islands this Labour Weekend!

Set in an ultra-cool mega marquee, The Big Weekend for Kids is the ultimate party zone for tamariki. Their favourite entertainers Anika Moa, Jeremy Redmore and Chris Sanders will be leading the fun, singing and dancing alongside our DJ who brings the disco vibes.

The Magic Garden will have a more chilled space with artists book-reading and lots of games.

Anika Moa is an award-winning singer, children's entertainer and TV presenter. Our much-loved baby whisperer brings her high-energy show that will have your little ones bouncing around. It's all going to be just a little bit crazy!

Jeremy Redmore may be better known to the mums and dads as the rock ‘n’ roller who first emerged as the front man for late 2000s sensations Midnight Youth. Now Jeremy is stepping up his mission to spread the joy of singing in children, as a pathway to greater self-esteem and health. His debut album for kids, "Singalongercise", is a groundbreaking concept and wellness tool, which uses singing and music to help children in Aotearoa live healthier lives. "Sing Like A Unicorn", was a sell-out children’s picture book, which he accompanied with a song and music video of the same name, which won Best Music Video at the 2023 Aotearoa Children’s Music Awards. His latest song, "Just Move" was released in September, with the full album release this October.

Chris Sanders is an award-winning children’s musician, songwriter, performer, and author who is known for writing some of New Zealand's most memorable children's songs, including the "111 Ambulance Song," "Mittens," inspired by the famous Wellington cat, and “Teddy Bear Hunt” with the Auckland Philharmonia. His latest collaboration with the Auckland Philharmonia, “Hana The Glowworm,” launched in April as part of the orchestra's Tunes 4 Tamariki series, with over 3000 attending the 4 shows.

Artists merchandise will be available to purchase, plus food and soft drinks. A coffee cart will be on site, essential for any caregivers needing a boost!
