The Bay of Islands Big Weekend serves up a night of music nostalgia and fresh new talent this Labour Weekend!

Aotearoa’s rock legacy act, Sonar Flare, brings together musicians from multiple iconic New Zealand bands to deliver the anthems that have shaped the musical fabric of New Zealand, inviting fans to relive the hits live, loud, and larger than life!

At the helm is lead singer Jason Kerrison, known for his stellar performances with Opshop and Babysitter’s Circus. He is joined by Hamish Gee (The Feelers), Matt Short (The Feelers and Sola Rosa) and Andy Lynch (The Feelers and Atlas). Get ready to experience the electrifying sound of Sonar Flare as they ignite the stage with their unforgettable catalogue of hit music!

They are joined by the iconic Hello Sailor, with 50 years of delivering their electric South Pacific rock n’ roll hits to fans under their belts such as "Gutter Black", "New Tattoo" and "Blue Lady". They have received multiple awards and are inductees into the New Zealand Music Hall of Fame.

Emerging from the vibrant youth music scene of Northland, Bandwidth Riot is a powerhouse teen rock band that is rapidly gaining national attention. The band recently won the Far North Smokefree Rockquest and have also been National Finalists in the Play It Strange Peace Song Competition for two consecutive years (2024 and 2025), earning the prestigious opportunity to record at Roundhead Studios in Auckland. Bandwidth Riot is redefining what it means to be young, loud, and original.

The Bay of Islands Big Weekend will take place in The Pavilion, a mega 1200sqm marquee, located close to the tourism hub of Paihia.
