This hidden gem nestled in the heart of Kaikohe is a journey into the past waiting to be discovered. Pioneer Village Kaikohe is a valuable community resource and home to an extensive collection of exhibits, architecture, technology, and significant Māori and post-colonial history. It is set on five acres of park-like grounds, recreated to represent a village of times gone by. PVK is home to 22 unique buildings and well over 5000 collection items. A visit wouldn’t be complete without seeing the treasures housed within New Zealand’s oldest standing courthouse, imagining life in the 1875 Maioha Cottage, or taking a peaceful moment inside the 1886 Methodist church.

Educational visits for Schools that are looking for learning that is focused on relevant curriculum and demonstrates an integrated approach. We work with them to design an experience to immerse students in authentic learning experiences and links to desired outcomes.
In addition, our café and venue provides a place to gather for coffee, local events, and formal meetings.
