Matariki For Families at Puketi Forest

Head to Puketi Forest for a great whanau Matariki experience!

Walk through the kauri forest and hear stories about Tane Mahuta and Matariki from our mangai (speaker).

We will have heaps of activities including campfires, sausage sizzle, star-gazing, glow worm walk and hot food and drinks.

This experience is across 2 sites and a Unimog transfer is provided between the areas! Sausages and marshmallows also provided.

This event is free and hosted for the community by the Department of Conservation, Tiakina Kauri (Kauri Protection), Ministry for Primary Industries, Heritage NZ and Te Rūnanga Ā Iwi Ō Ngāpuhi.
