Kiwi Music Night!

Whats On

Local launch pad announces first Local Music showcase night to be held at The Turner Centre on 3 May from 7pm, celebrating the New Zealand music month.

Exciting night for Kiwi original music from the Far North talent, original bands in a new showcase programme night to be held 3rd May 7pm at the Turner centre in Kerikeri. The night is to connect local artist with their local communities, with Kerikeri hosting.

In early 2023 a new initiative was started as a trial called the Local launch Pad with seed funding from MCH the program held meetings with local artists and musicians from all over the Far North to find out what they needed. The common theme identified was the need for artists to have an opportunity to perform in professional environments where the music could be betrayed in the best possible light. The object of these showcases highlight these artists and help them reach their audiences. One such event has already been held which was not open to the public and gave the Bands and Artists an opportunity perform in front of their peers. This event on 3rd of May will be open to the public and we are looking for support from the local community for this new initiative and these talented artists. The line up of artists will be from all over the far north, Dargaville, Rawene, Russell and Kerikeri, and they are looking forward to performing for you!

Program coordinator Merv Pinny is excited about the band line up and that we are having the very first one in Kerikeri in New Zealand music month. It will be a mix of genres with Rock & Blues, Jazz, Electronica, Folk, Pop and Rythm so there will be something for everyone.
