Heritage Talk - Hope or High Water
Whats On
Following in the wake of our ancestors
In 2011 - 2012, seven traditional Polynesian voyaging canoes with 120 crew from all nations across the Pacific retraced the paths of their Polynesian ancestors on a mission of cultural revitalisation and environmental awakening.
In this talk, June Pitman will bring to light one man's epic sailing adventure, experienced as captain on the canoes of the Pacific Voyagers fleet, part of one of the greatest Polynesian cultural events in living history, Te Mana o Te Moana - the Spirit of the Sea.
His adventure was inspiring in so many ways, but none more as important as lighting a fire in many of us who met and sailed with him, to understand and learn the ways of our ancestors.
In memory of Duncan Morrison.
Free entry.
No booking is required. Seating is strictly limited on a first-come, first-served basis.
The event is in the Cafler Suite, Forum North.
