Camellia Week

Come and appreciate the Camellia with us!

View the bright and beautiful plants while they are full of fragrant flower, listen to local Camellia specialists share their knowledge, learn about growing your own Camellias at home, and support your community garden. Examine informative displays, photos, and original paintings, and of course experience the stunning blooms.

Here at the Whangarei Quarry Gardens we have 207 Camellias, including the largest collection of scented Camellias in the Southern Hemisphere! Local Camellia Horticulturalist (and original Quarry Gardens Manager) David Muir will be giving talks on Monday the 31st of July at 11am, and on Wednesday the 2nd of August at 11am.

Golf cart access will be available between the Visitor Centre and the Camellia Collection, for a donation. Entry by donation.
