Brewed As is Mangawhai Heads' award-winning café-restaurant - a place where local produce, Asian-influenced flavours, and modern cooking techniques come together in a setting that feels genuinely part of the community.

Brunch is served seven days a week, with a menu that moves easily between thoughtful café plates and shareable dishes built around the best seasonal ingredients the region has to offer. From Wednesday through Saturday, the kitchen opens again for evening service - a more expansive experience with a little more ambition on the plate, creative cocktails, and an atmosphere that's as much about the people around the table as the food on it.

Local sourcing isn't a marketing line here - it's how the business operates. Brewed As works with Northland growers, makers, and suppliers, choosing sustainability and ethical sourcing as part of its everyday practice. The menu shifts with the seasons, always chasing peak ingredients and the most vibrant flavours.

Coffee is taken seriously too. In partnership with Turning Point Coffee - winners of two Excellence Awards at the 2024 Northland Business Excellence Awards - Our beans are sourced from organic smallholder farms around the world, roasted using advanced gas-free infrared technology for both flavour and reduced environmental impact. Single-use cups are being phased out in favour of the Again Again deposit-return cup system.
