Journey with Te Tiriti-based duo Aro – Charles (Ngaapuhi, Te Rarawa, Ngaati Te Ata Waiohua, Ngaati Mutunga) and Emily Looker – as they trace the memory of a place we all know, but have forgotten how to return to, somewhere in between, unseen, but felt.
Through a blend of te reo Maaori and English, their music weaves together jazz, folk, soul, and RnB influences, carrying stories of longing, wonder, belonging, and reconnection. Anchored in the values of kaitiakitanga and manaakitanga, Aro invite audiences into a contemplative and heartfelt world where the seen and unseen sit side by side.
