We are now closed for our Hōtoke Winter Programme which includes a line-up of Creative Community workshops including our Tamariki Toi school holiday workshops, Community Create workshops, Poetry/writing events and our Art Incubator, Whakatupu Ake, unique to developing artist skills and mahi for next season.

As volunteers, winter allows us a little more time to share our talents, take the time to talk, build and create. Thank you again so much for your support over the season, and we hope you can join us for one of our Winter Workshops. Haere mai, see you soon.

Flash Fiction Workshop, Sunday 25 June: Join our workshop tutor Vivian and the Northland Society of Authors for a fun afternoon of creative writing, followed by the Flash Fiction Awards and reading. 1:30pm–4:00pm, $10.

Tamariki Toi - School Holiday Art Programme, 10–19 July Monday 10 & 17 July ‘Spray & Stencil’ with Marino and Wednesday 12 & 19 July ‘Upcycle’ with Alicia. These are inspiring, hands-on workshops, sharing skills and techniques with students (aged 9–18). 9:30am–4:00pm, $10 includes materials.

Art Incubator - Whakatupu Ake, July–September Following the success of last years programme our Art Incubator is back for two Sunday workshops (30 July, 10 September). Art mentor Shane Hansen and KTC team up with artists to share ideas, motivation and create work for our summer 2017/18 season. 10:30am–4:00pm. Free for registered artists only.

Community Create Workshops - 5, 13, 20 August Print, Paint and Create - Come join local artists in three one-day workshops in August, Jewellery/Weaving with Alicia Courtney/Carolyn Lye (5 Aug), Printing with Jasmine Horton (13 Aug) and Painting with Helen Beech (20 Aug). It’s an opportunity to share skills, give something new a go and have fun creating and making. 10:30am–4:00pm $20/workshop includes materials. All ages and skill level.

Poetry Day - Sunday 27 August Celebrate National Poetry Day with this fun spoken word event. Bring your poetry or come along to listen and be inspired by local rhyme and rythum. 1:00pm–4:00pm $5
