Just six months after opening, staff from The Orchard Business and Event Hub in Whangarei are looking forward to shopping for more desks as "The Orchard" nears capacity.

The Orchard provides a collaborative regional co-working space that supports the growth and development of the mobile, freelance and SME sector within Northland.

“We are bursting at the seams” says Orchard Activator Kayla Tattley. "We’re really excited to have brought on board 12 new permanent residents last month - this growth results in an enhanced community vibe and increased collaboration opportunities."

“It is rewarding seeing connections being made between residents, casual members and hotdeskers, and new social and business relationships forming with more people utilising the space."

Kayla said casual members have been taking advantage of the $6 per hour rate.

"We want to encourage more start-ups to come and discover the benefits of being part of a collaborative, co-working environment - the success of The Orchard reaffirms that this space is filling a gap, and meeting the needs of a variety of business people."

On 11 May will open its doors for a free hot-desking day to celebrate NZ National Co-working Day 2017. To find out more about this event or The Orchard contact Kayla.
